Love in a little black diary
“Love in a little black diary” is an online collection of my short stories. I chose “Love in a little black diary” as the title of this site in recognition of my paternal grandmother’s wartime diary. The diary, covering the period 1941-1945, is a precious item in my collection of family history memorabilia. As well as being a source of much information, it’s a testament to the love my grandmother had for her three sons, two of whom served in the 2nd Australian Imperial Force (2nd AIF) during World War II. Apparently, these are the kind of stories most of us read, like and share online. We are interested in the big questions of life, self-improvement, kids and parenting (and grandparenting), relationships, food, travel, family history, ageing and mortality. My short stories cover these topics and more!
Some of my stories may touch you deeply. They reveal God’s providence and grace in my life and the lives of special others and the triumph of faith, hope and love over adversity and suffering.
The stories I publish on this site are based on my life experience, family archives, people I’ve met and places my husband and I have called home or visited. I write about food in the context of family life and home cooking.
